Emirates Airlines is reportedly preparing to accept XRP payments as part of a larger cryptocurrency rollout in partnership with Crypto.com, according to recent reports. The integration is expected to enable travelers to pay for flights, upgrades, and in-flight services using XRP, along with other digital currencies, as early as late 2025 or early 2026.

This move would make Emirates one of the first major global carriers to support blockchain-native crypto assets in its core payment infrastructure — strengthening its appeal to tech-savvy travelers and positioning itself as a crypto-forward airline.

Crypto.com Integration Powers the Payment System

Emirates is working with Crypto.com to integrate the exchange’s payment platform, Crypto.com Pay, at the point of sale for airline bookings and services. The agreement, structured as a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to bring real-time conversion of digital currencies into UAE dirhams, ensuring Emirates doesn’t hold crypto on its balance sheet.

This setup provides users with a seamless payment experience: buy with crypto, settle in fiat — and avoid the volatility risk tied to holding digital assets directly with the airline.
